8 Month Pictures

8 months

I have discovered that we must live boring lives. All I have to blog about is our “status” it seems. Who is sick now and with what, what Jackson is doing now, work, and how is Billy. Sorry, guys…that’s our life….so here it goes…..

No big surprise, we are still having sickness in our house. Jackson is recovering from his second ear infection. He was sent home from daycare last Wednesday. Billy took him to the doctor and we were given an antibiotic and a nebulizer. My mom kept him Thursday, half of Friday and Monday and I kept him home all weekend. So he had 5.5 days to recover and was able to go back to daycare yesterday. He is doing much better and is back to his active self…he kept Mimi on the move Monday. Thanks Mom!!

I am still on the road to recovery. I believe I am now over my sinus infection, bronchitis, and ear infection. I will be going soon to have some tests run to see why I keep getting sick. I hope they are able to get me back to where I was and that I won’t continue to have problems with spring coming and allergies. Thanks for all of you who have been praying for our recoveries as well as Billy’s job situation.

Billy is doing well. He is still job hunting with no leads at this point. He is trying to keep busy doing little things here and there. I have a “never-ending Honey to-do-list” (as he calls it) but I just can’t seem to get him started on it. Hopefully, he can do more if the weather turns nice (and stays!). That would be a full time job in itself!!! No, he actually does a lot to help me. He has become the chef of the home for the past 6 months and does a lot of the housework, shopping and helps with the baby. I’m lucky…he’s good to me!

This weekend Jackson discovered that he could climb stairs. I saw him climb up 2 and quickly got him down. When Mimi kept him Monday, he climbed up 5-6 steps! So needless to say we now have a baby gate on the stairs. We have barriers set up everywhere now it seems. He is so mobile and loves to get into everything he is not suppose to. He loves to open drawers, play under tables, play with shoes, and chase Scout around. Before we know it, he will be trying to escape out the doggie door! He claps and now waves bye-bye. He is so precious. Billy said on Wednesday the doctor was examining him and Jackson started waving at him – he was ready to go bye-bye and the doctor knew it!! He is still holding on to things when he takes steps but he has stood up twice with very little help. I am not ready for him to start walking. He is learning things and growing too fast. It wasn’t that long ago that he sat up for the first time now he climbs stairs…what’s happening to my baby…..

I am looking forward to spring and new adventures to come. I can’t wait to start taking Jackson on walks with Scout in our neighborhood and swinging in the back yard. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle, we have a nice big swing set for Jackson and I hope to buy a baby swing soon and put it on there so he can start playing on it. Maybe the blog will be more interesting when we can get well and start spending more time outside and doing fun things!

PS. Our computer is still having issues but I hope to have pictures posted soon.

Please, Pray for us...

It has been a very difficult period for us lately. We have a lot going on that we are dealing with but we are praying hard and trust that it will all turn around soon. I have several doctor appointments coming up and I hope we can get everything worked out. I actually go today to have a hearing test since I have been having trouble hearing since last Thursday. I still have the bronchitis, sinus infection, and double ear infections. There were some other issues but they are getting better. Jackson is doing OK adjusting to some changes that we have had to make. We are looking forward to the spring so maybe he can get rid of this congestion he has kept most all winter. He is a good, happy baby but has been fussier lately as he doesn't like change - just like his Daddy. Billy is still job hunting with no leads at this point. We know all of this is HIS plan and we are on HIS time. We must be patient and keep our faith strong.

On to happier things, I love spring and am very excited about it this year. We have a swing set that was given to us but we need to buy a baby swing to go on it. I can't wait to get it and be able to get outside with Jackson and swing. We already have the stroller so we can go for walks and take Scout with us. It should be easier this time than it was when I was on maternity leave because I would get a good ways from the house and Jackson would cry because he wanted to eat. I am so glad we are past the eating every 30 minutes!! Although that forced me to "power-walk"!! Our yard looks horrible since I have not kept it up since I was pregnant but maybe we can get some work done there too. I hope Jackson will like being outdoors. Billy and I both enjoy getting out so maybe he will. Billy looks forward to the times when he can ride Jackson on the tractor and have him play in the garden with him and do all the boy stuff. Such fun things to look forward to.

Jackson is growing so fast. We started looking at new car seats. He is quickly outgrowing his infant seat and he hates it. We are hoping he will not fuss as much with the bigger one but we are trying to wait until his birthday to get it for him. Ooo, scary thought, his first birthday....where has time gone? I guess we will be parting soon enough! His birthday is right there around July 4th so I would imagine a lot of cookouts! We need to do some major childproofing too. He is on the go big time. Ever since he discovered pulling up and stepping he has really taken off. We have done some of the basics but he is so smart and is figuring things out so we need to go ahead with the next step. Fun stuff!

We're here...

Sorry it has been a while. We have had computer issues and Billy job hunts quite a bit. He hasn't found anything permanent or full time but he is still picking up small jobs from time to time. Also, I have been under the weather a good bit. I have bronchitis, a sinus infection and an ear infection so I have been out of it for a while. I have never had an ear infection before now (that I remember) and I feel so sorry for small children if this is the pain they experience. I went to a different doctor today and she seems very determined to help find out why I have been so sick for the past 5 months. So hopefully I will get well soon.

Jackson is on the move. He loves to stand now, in fact he stands all the time now! He has started taking steps while holding on (I think that's called cruising?). He has a music table that we recently put the legs on it so he could stand and play. Now he just goes around and around it and plays with everything! I guess we will be pulling out the walker soon! Daycare thinks he will be the first to walk in his class.

And as you can see from some of the following pictures, some new favorites include a paper box, the empty end table, laundry baskets, and stairs. Forget all the expensive toys!

Look at me!!!

My new trick!

It's been a while...

And sad to say, not much improvement. I am still sick and its been one thing after another. Billy has a cold again and Jackson seems to be fighting something as well. I really can't wait until the winter is gone and we can get over all this stuff. Jackson is doing well otherwise. He seems to be picking up the speed on crawling now and is getting good at pulling up on things. I know I need to get some more pictures posted soon. If I knew how and our computer would be a little more cooperative, I could post a video of Jackson. Maybe I will try to figure that out when I get time! Billy has taken over the computer for the most part since he is job hunting. He had to get his resume together and has been searching for job openings. He is still looking for odd jobs to do here and there and has already had a few so far. We are just hoping that he will find something soon. Not much else going on, I guess we must have boring lives!
