It's been a while...

And sad to say, not much improvement. I am still sick and its been one thing after another. Billy has a cold again and Jackson seems to be fighting something as well. I really can't wait until the winter is gone and we can get over all this stuff. Jackson is doing well otherwise. He seems to be picking up the speed on crawling now and is getting good at pulling up on things. I know I need to get some more pictures posted soon. If I knew how and our computer would be a little more cooperative, I could post a video of Jackson. Maybe I will try to figure that out when I get time! Billy has taken over the computer for the most part since he is job hunting. He had to get his resume together and has been searching for job openings. He is still looking for odd jobs to do here and there and has already had a few so far. We are just hoping that he will find something soon. Not much else going on, I guess we must have boring lives!

7 months

Jackson is 7 months old today. He is growing so fast and his little personality is coming out more and more each day. We had even more sickness in our house this week. I was out of work Wednesday and Thursday. Jackson was sent home from daycare early Wednesday. I am not glad that I was sick but I am glad that I was there Thursday because Jackson started crawling and I got to see it!!! This would have been another "first" that I would have missed but I got to see it! I am not ready for him to crawl. As soon as he figured it out he just kept doing it and going for everything he wasn't supposed to go after. He had a floor full of toys but yet wanted the computer cord or Billy's book, or a box, or candle just something that was off limits. He has started pulling up a little too. Depending on what it is he can get on his knees and sometimes stand up, but not the best at that yet. If you sit in the floor he will come crawl on you and pull up. He is so precious! I will have to blog more and add pics later but just wanted to share the news!

This and that

We had our first snow day Tuesday. One thing about Billy not having a job right now is that he can help with Jackson. Daycare was closed so Billy had to keep Jackson. This works out well since I am running very low on time at work. Billy did very well by himself. He had to take Jackson to get his 6 month shots this morning. He said that he cried but did pretty good. I may have cried if I had been there!

Jackson sat up all by himself last week at daycare but we haven’t seen him do it yet. He scoots around and babbles all the time now. He came close to sitting up for me this weekend but didn't lift his hands and sit back. He is the first in his class to sit up, however, the others can do the military crawl and pull up. Jackson has learned how to get up on his hands and toes like in the picture. Daycare said that he has started doing that and then trying to lift one hand. She said he gets startled because he had figured out that he will fall. The floor is hard there so I hope he doesn’t do it too many times! He is getting close to "Da-Da". May not be what he is intending but it sounds like it. Or maybe so, he did it on the changing table the other night when Billy was getting him ready for bed.

Jackson had his 6 month pictures taken last weekend. It is getting more interesting the older he gets. He had just woken up and didn’t want to smile. And it is hard to pose him when he doesn’t want to stay put. We were acting all silly trying to get his attention and get him to smile. There is no telling what he thought of us!

After the pictures we went to visit with Billy’s parents. They took me out for my birthday to P.F. Chang’s in Greensboro. We had a great experience. The food and the service were really good. It was interesting, the waiter discusses all food allergies and dislikes with the table and then orders for the whole table. And if you don’t like it, he will take it back and get you whatever you want. It helps you to try things you might not otherwise ever try. And we liked everything that he picked out, especially the Chicken Lettuce Wraps! We had been once before but it did not even compare to this time. Then we went back to their house to visit some more and have dessert! We enjoyed it.

Otherwise, things are going ok. Still some health issues here and there but we are making it. Billy is continuing to look for work and get things straightened out. We are praying for good health and we have faith that God will carry us through this rough time. Please pray for us as well…

“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust…”

Good news, bad news....

I have been sick again last week with a cold and infection on my nose. But I have been on an antibiotic so I am feeling better now. Jackson had a touch of a virus. He was running a temp of 101 last Sunday and Monday. He had his 6 month check up last Monday but was unable to get his shots because of the fever. As usual, he had a wonderful check up and he is doing great. He stayed home with me Monday and Mimi kept him Tuesday and Wednesday. They seem to have had a good time. He was able to get some rest and not have to go out in the cold rain. He is teething and can be very fussy at times and won't want to eat. He is coughing a bit and still has the nasty congestion we can't seem to get rid of. He is still around 18 lbs and 27 inches. They took measurements but when the doctor showed me on the computer, the data was entered wrong and they had to correct it.

I had to get my licenses renewed last Thursday since they expired Sunday. Usually people have a bad experience at the DMV but it wasn't that bad. I don't normally procrastinate this much but lately I am lucky if I get anything done in time!

It was my birthday weekend. Mimi and Popa kept Jackson Saturday so Billy and I could have some time. I got my hair cut and Billy took me out to eat. We went to a few stores and then went ahead and did our grocery shopping since it is so much easier without a little one. Sunday, my family took me out for lunch to Olive Garden. It was really nice. They managed to sneak a cake in with some numbers on it??? Kathyrn said I was 50 but it was really a 3 and a 0!!!!!! I can't believe it! I am getting as old as some others I know that keep picking on me! I had a good time.

Well, on a bad note, Billy was laid off last week. Not a good birthday present! He really enjoyed his job and hates that he lost it. We knew that it would happen at some point but it hits hard when it actually happens. So now he will be looking for a new full time job and try to find odd jobs to carry him over. We/I try not to get too stressed out and worry so much. We know God has been so good to us and will take care of us now. God provides!

Jackson has started babbling more and is so cute. Billy says that he is saying Da-Da. I told him that Jackson will have to say Ma-Ma first and if he doesn't it is only because Da-da is easier. Billy agreed and said it is because Jackson is a Moma's boy! He does love his Mommy, so I guess we will have to see! Jackson is really working on crawling. He is getting close we think. I can't believe how fast they grow. And always, he is such a happy baby. Billy said that when he went to get Jackson up this morning he was smiling before he even opened his eyes. When I left daycare this morning, he was jumping in the exersaucer and smiling. He was just as happy as can be so I hope he has a great day.

I will try to get some more pictures on soon.

New Years

We had a nice quiet New Years eve at home after work and we visited with some friends and their kids on New Years Day. We really had a nice time. Unfortunately, we didn't take our camera so we don't have anything to post for that.

I am sick again! It started Monday and is fully developed now. I don't know what is going on lately but I just can't seem to get well. So far Billy and Jackson don't seem to have any signs of sickness. I really hope they don't get it. Jackson goes for his 6 month check up next week. My poor baby has to get more shots. He is doing really well. I think we will be doing some child-proofing in the house this weekend as Jackson has started getting into everything and doesn't seem to stay put anymore! He seems to like electrical cords!
